Materials
Brothers Dressler Studio is dedicated to using materials that have been responsibly sourced. Wood is our primary medium, with its natural character, strength, workability and potential to grow, it is an ideal material. Below is a selection of woods we incorporate into our works.
OUR STANDARD WOODS
We accentuate the natural qualities of the wood grain and colour using a selection of North American hardwoods including ash, walnut and white oak in a number of different finishes.

OTHER MATERIALS
Other woods are selected from locally sourced live edge slabs from Toronto and the surrounding area’s urban canopy, or salvaged wood from defunct factories, the bottom of the great lakes, and demolitions, among other sources. Occasionally we come across an interesting object that captures our imaginations and seems destined to become part of our work. It is the material that brings the design to life, and often our material streams lead to pieces built with them.
