The striking effect of black wood can bring drama and austerity to a piece and suits any interior. Our solid black stain on oak or ash shows off the grain and silhouettes the piece. We offer an iron acetate finish on oak that darkens the wood, bringing out the tannins while allowing grain detail to show through. Another method we employ is a shou sugi ban finish where we burn the wood for a dark textural depth and protection from the elements.
