ROOTS

The inherent sculptural qualities of a root have always drawn our interest and when the root has been exposed to the elements, gaining a grey patina and naturally smooth texture, they become art objects in themselves. Our passion for finding a use for the entire tree has led us to use roots as the base for tables and benches as well as lighting elements and other objects. Often salvaged from ever expanding river beds that drain farm run-off into the Great Lakes, or road sides and forests. The natural organic shapes of these roots create a unique sculptural sense.
